The Market Court has extended the processing time limit for the merger between Loihde and BLC Turva, currently under investigation by the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA), until 27 May 2026.
On 13 January 2026, the FCCA opened an in-depth investigation into the merger in which Loihde is acquiring BLC Turva. Both parties are active in the physical security market, where they provide, for example, electronic security technology and structural security systems, as well as related installation, maintenance, and support services. Loihde is also active in the digital security market.
According to the FCCA’s preliminary assessment, the merger would give rise to harmful effects on competition in the markets for locking systems in the regions of South Karelia, South Savo and Central Finland.
On 9 April 2026, the FCCA applied to the Market Court for an extension of the processing time limit, which was due to expire on 22 April 2026, until 27 May 2026. The parties to the merger are currently preparing commitments intended to address the competition concerns identified in the Authority’s preliminary assessment.
The parties supported the extension of the time limit, and the Market Court approved the FCCA’s application on 10 April 2026.
