he Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA) approved OP Life Assurance Company Ltd’s acquisition of the individual life insurance portfolio of Suomi Mutual Life Insurance Company (Suomi Mutual) on 31 March 2016.
OP has already been managing Suomi Mutual’s individual life insurance portfolio for 10 years, and the acquisition does not significantly impede effective competition or have a material negative impact on competition in the insurance market. As Suomi Mutual is a life insurance company currently being run-down, it has not granted new insurance since 2004.
