Consumer Ombudsman flooded with questions on the price rise for electricity transmission

In recent days, the Consumer Ombudsman has been flooded with questions by consumers, claiming that the price hikes by electricity transmission company Caruna are excessive. The Consumer Ombudsman monitors the contract terms between electricity transmission companies and consumers in order to guarantee consumer protection. However, the reasonableness of electricity transmission pricing is monitored retrospectively by the Energy Authority, based on the Electricity Market Act, in four-year periods.

The Consumer Ombudsman is investigating the matter and will consider whether further action should be taken.
