FCCA approves a corporate transaction between Maintpartner Oy and Fortum Power and Heat Oy

On 17 June 2016, the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA) approved a business transaction by which Maintpartner Oy acquires the operating and maintenance business for certain power plants and district heating networks from Fortum Power and Heat Oy.

The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority has concluded that the acquisition will not significantly impede effective competition in the Finnish market.

Maintpartner provides design engineering, consultation, building, operating and maintenance services for the energy production and industrial sectors. Maintpartner Oy is part of the CapMan Group. The acquired business covers the provision of operating and maintenance services for electricity and heat generation and district heating networks in Finland.

The FCCA’s decision includes business secrets of the parties involved. The decision can only be published once all confidential information has been removed, which will take approximately two weeks.
