FCCA approves acquisition of Autocarrera by Kesko

On 24 November 2016, the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA) approved a business transaction whereby VV-Auto Group, owned by the Kesko Corporation, will acquire Autocarrera Ab.

The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA) has concluded that the acquisition will not significantly impede effective competition in the Finnish market. The acquisition will only result in a minor increase in market share, and other competitors will remain in the markets.

VV-Auto is part of Kesko Group, the parent company of which is Kesko Corporation.  VV-Auto imports Volkswagen, Audi and SEAT passenger cars to Finland.  In addition, VV-Auto imports Volkswagen sports utility vehicles and MAN trucks and buses. VV-Autotalot Oy, a subsidiary of VV-Auto, is engaged in the retail of these products and the related after-sales activities.

Autocarrera is engaged in the retail of passenger cars and light motorised vehicles, and is the only importer of Porsche passenger vehicles in Finland.

Besides the import and sale of vehicles, VV-Auto and Autocarrera provide repair, maintenance and spare part services.

The FCCA’s decision includes business secrets of the parties involved. The decision can only be published once all confidential information has been removed, which will take approximately two weeks.
