The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA) approved Sector Alarm Large AS’s acquisition of G4S Security Services Oy on 8 March 2016. Both parties of the merger provide security services in Finland.
The FCCA investigated the impact of the merger on effective competition in the security services, money handling and valuables-in-transit services, and security technology market in Finland. The FCCA found that the merger does not significantly impede effective competition or cause notable harmful impacts on competition in that market. There will still be other large operators, such as Securitas and ISS Security, on the market after the merger.
The FCCA’s decision contains business secrets of the parties involved. The decision can only be published after the confidential information has been removed, which will take approximately two weeks.
