FCCA investigates driving school market

The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA) has conducted inspections at the premises of certain driving schools.  The FCCA is investigating whether the businesses in question have restricted competition between driving schools.

The FCCA has the right to carry out inspections under the Competition Act to investigate competition law infringements. The fact that an inspection is being carried out is not an indication of guilt on the part of the audited business or association of businesses.

The FCCA will issue its decision on the legality of the practices of the businesses later, after the completion of the inspections and other investigations to be conducted in the matter. The Authority will not comment on the investigation while it is ongoing.
