Purchasing a renovation service from a door-to-door vendor who turns into your driveway is easy, but deliberation is of the essence, as is the case in renovations in general.
Especially in larger contracts, such as roof and window renovations, it is worth taking the time to reflect before signing an agreement, so that you can carefully consider your renovation needs in peace, compare prices and familiarise yourself with the terms of the agreement. You should not pay the whole purchase price until the renovation has been completed.
Remember that there is no obligation to buy anything, even if the vendor has spent a lot of time presenting a product. Aggressive practices may not be used in marketing, and pressurising a customer to conclude an agreement is always inappropriate. If it transpires that a consumer has not been able to understand the significance of an agreement because of their age or illness, the agreement is not binding.
