Customers must be informed, upon ticket purchase, of the number of ski lifts and slopes currently in use if this number is different from the normal amount, so that they can factor in this information when making their purchasing decision.
Compensation can be claimed for ski lift tickets on the basis of the suspension of ski lift or slope usage, with certain restrictions applying. Compensation cannot be claimed for a suspension that only lasts a short time, or one caused by repair or maintenance work that cannot be postponed due to safety reasons. Moreover, compensation cannot be claimed if the suspension is caused by a power outage or weather conditions that were not known at the time of the ticket purchase or whose consequences the personnel could not prevent.
The possibility of obtaining compensation is dependent on whether the ski resort operated a sufficient number of other ski slopes and lifts despite the suspensions. If this was not the case, compensation can be claimed in the event the ski slopes or lifts were out of order for longer than one-third of the ski lift ticket's validity period.
