European consumer authorities and European Commission met representatives for social media companies last week. The companies were asked to comply consumer rules into their terms and conditions and intervene to scams and subscription traps on social networks. Facebook, Twitter and Google+ have agreed to propose changes.
The companies in question will finalise detailed measures on how to comply with the EU regulatory framework within one month. The Commission and the consumer authorities will review the final proposals.
