Mika Oinonen, D.Sc. (Econ.&BA) and LL.M. , has been granted the title of Adjunct Professor of Competition Law and Policy at the Tampere University School of Management. This is the first time in Finland that a title of Adjunct Professor combines the fields of competition law and competition policy. Oinonen works as a Senior Research Officer in the Market Research Unit of the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA).
Oinonen has worked at the FCCA and its predecessor, the Finnish Competition Authority, since 2009. His doctoral dissertation entitled “Does EU Merger Control Discriminate Against Small Markets Companies? Diagnosing the Argument with Conclusions” (Tampere, 2009) was chosen as the best legal doctoral dissertation in Finland in 2009 and was later published in Kluwer’s International Competition Law Series.
