FCCA completes investigation of Finnish Energy

The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA) is investigating a recommendation issued by the Finnish Energy concerning the harmonisation of the time-based measurement of electricity transmission. The FCCA is investigating whether competition has been limited within the Finnish Energy organisation by agreeing on the harmonisation of the time-based measurement of electricity sales and transmission in order to comply with the related recommendation.

To clarify the matter, the FCCA has carried out an investigation at the Finnish Energy. The FCCA has the right to carry out inspections under the Competition Act to investigate competition law infringements. The fact that an inspection is carried out is not an indication of guilt on the part of the audited organisation.

The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority will deliver a decision on the legality of the conduct on the basis of its inspection and other subsequent investigations. The FCCA will not comment on its findings while the investigation is ongoing.
