FCCA to study insurance markets in road haulage sector

The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA) monitors both competition issues on markets, and financial competitiveness. FCCA’s market monitoring has focused on the development of cost factors in certain key areas of the economy.  In terms of goods traffic requiring a permit (road haulage sector), FCCA has noted a sharp increase in recent years in the index describing insurance costs in the sector.

This is why FCCA has decided to look into how the insurance markets work in terms of road haulage, focusing on insurance demand, supply and trading practices. FCCA will order a survey from Taloustutkimus Oy, to be sent to approximately 4,000 companies in the road haulage sector.
