It is not always clear for consumers whether a trip a package tour or not. In order to simply identification, travel agencies use a package tour logo "valmismatka". The logo can be used on websites, travel brochures and booking confirmations sent to customers, among other things, to indicate that the trip is a package tour.
The logo is also used to inform customers about the register of package travel companies maintained by the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority. Travellers have the right to receive information before a trip they have purchased on whether a security has been lodged for the trip in question. The status of a travel agency's security is indicated in the register.
The logo can be ordered from the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority's package tour unit (firstname.lastname@example.org). The logo can be delivered in digital format (JPEG, PDF, TIF and EPS) or it can, if necessary be mailed in the form of sticker sheets. In this case, the travel agent must order a number equivalent to need over a two-year period.
Instructions on using logo
- The logo may be used only by a travel agency in the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority's register of package travel companies.
- The logo may be used in the marketing of package tours. In addition, it should be attached to a document on the basis of which the sale of a package tour has been agreed (for example, on a booking confirmation).
- The logo can be used in black and white or in colour (only in the delivered colours).
- Changes other than those affecting size must not be made to the logo. The changes must not affect the readability of the logo's text.
In the event of doubt, the travel agency should contact the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority. The logo may not be used contrary to this instruction.
