According to the Package Travel Act the traveller has a right to cancel the trip because of the situation in the country of destination, if the traveller has a justified reason to believe that the trip cannot be taken without endangering the traveller's health or life due to an act of war, a natural catastrophe, a strike or a similar situation at or near the destination.
The tours which comply with general package tour terms and conditions a cogent reason to cancel the trip is when authorities recommend that the destination in question should be avoided because of a danger threatening the traveller's safety or health.
Security information and other information about the destination are available from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the National Institute for Health and Welfare.
When the trip is cancelled due to a Force Majeure,
- The tour operator has to return the price of the trip and other payments paid to the tour operator to the customer.
- The tour operator does not have to compensate the traveller with possible costs incurred due to cancellation or with any other damages.
